[RE]FOCUS Day 51
Week 8: Re-establishing
Day 2: Builder
By Andrew Brazeal
READ:
Hebrews 3:3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.
I have always felt a deep connection to my home churches. Growing up at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint, I felt drawn to the traditions of the church from a young age. As I grew up I fell in love with worship and singing praises. As I grew older and attended new churches, I always found joy in seeing how the churches were unique in their styles and in getting to know the people who belonged there.
Now that I am a member at Trinity, I’ve grown to love so much about it- the people, the traditions, the worship. Reading Hebrews 3:3, I’m reminded that as great as Trinity is – even if it was the greatest church in all of history, it is nothing compared to the glory of Christ our Savior. I’m encouraged that as my church grows and makes changes, the Architect of our faith is already perfect and unchanging. May God give us a love and connection to our church, but may He even more set Jesus as our focus and foundation.
PRAY:
Lord God, thank You for the gifts used to bring us to and strengthen us in faith. When we get distracted by blessings that carry deep meaning, refocus our hearts on the truth that one day You will re-establish Your creation and family that will never fade, centered on You. Amen.

What are some of the best ways to use practices and habits in worship, study, and serving Jesus without them becoming distractions from Jesus?
